Year Group Overviews
Welcome to our Year Group Curriculum Overviews!
At Phoenix Primary, we are committed to providing an engaging, broad, and balanced curriculum that inspires a love of learning in every child. Our year group overviews give parents and carers an insight into the exciting topics, key skills, and enriching experiences planned for each stage of your child’s educational journey. Alongside core subjects like English, Maths and Science, we place a strong emphasis on foundation subjects such as History, Geography, Art, and Design & Technology, ensuring children develop a wide range of knowledge and skills.
In our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we lay the foundation for lifelong learning through a play-based, child-centered curriculum that fosters curiosity, imagination, and independence. Through carefully planned activities and continuous provision, children develop early skills in communication, language, literacy, and numeracy while building social and emotional resilience in a nurturing environment.
We are also proud of our SEND Enhanced Provision (Class 7a, 7b, 7c), which ensures that every child receives the support they need to thrive. Our inclusive approach combines tailored interventions, specialist resources, and close collaboration with families to meet the unique needs of children with additional learning requirements. At Phoenix Primary, we celebrate diversity and are committed to helping every child achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive community.
In addition, our curriculum supports personal development, as well as opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork through extra-curricular activities and whole-school events. By developing curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of community, we aim to empower every child to reach their full potential and develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
