Vision and Values
At Phoenix, we pledge to continually strive to make our school an inclusive, safe, happy place to learn for all. We believe that all children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally when we work together as a team.
OFSTED say:
Pupils feel safe and happy at Phoenix Primary School. They are proud to be part of the ‘Phoenix family’. They enjoy the inclusive nature of the school. This is because staff take time to get to know pupils and children in the early years. All are made to feel welcome.
Our Thrive Behaviour Policy is based around just four rules:
Ready/ Respect/ Safe /and Trust (these are the things that matter to us!)
We believe that being resilient, responsible, resourceful citizens is vital to a happy and harmonious life, and that being reflective and then restorative, helps us to continually repair and improve. These are the Phoenix Five Values – the 5 Rs – and we teach them and celebrate them explicitly.
At Phoenix, we believe that every child has the power to make a difference in the world. Learning about global issues helps us make informed choices and share our knowledge. Using our unique talents and creativity, we can come up with solutions to problems we see and become world changers.
We believe that working together with the wider school community - for example, through volunteering, school projects, and fundraising for good causes - can have a significant impact, both locally and on a wider scale. We care passionately about issues such as protecting the environment, human rights, equality and equity.
Staying positive, persevering even when it's hard, and inspiring others to join us is essential. Even small actions can lead to big changes, and our Phoenix children are never too young to make a positive impact.
At Phoenix, our motto is: ‘where we rise to the challenge’ – and we do – every day! 😊
